Billy Brewer has provided legal services to the Oakwood Revolving Fund and the purchase of the Oakwood Commons, as well as other needs over the last 30 years.

I grew up in a small eastern North Carolina town and that’s what made me love Oakwood. I don’t think I’ll ever leave it because you have that strong sense of community that you feel in a small town. When I was growing up, if I did something inappropriate out in public, it wasn’t just my parents who would reprimand me. It was my next door neighbor. “Billy Boy, you shouldn’t be doing that. I don’t want to have to tell your momma.” I think that’s why Oakwood has thrived.
